Instructor Renewal

For instructor renewal you will be required to meet the following requirements

• Maintain current provider status. This can be done my maintaining a current BLS Provider certification, or by demonstrating skills and taking a written exam during a monitoring session
• Earn a minimum of 4 teaching credits in two years. This includes all BLS Provider and HeartSaver level courses.
• Complete any required updates provided by BLS Training Centers, Allied 100 or the American Heart Association. The AHA issues updates every five years.
• Be monitored by TF staff. Monitoring can be done at an available BLS Training Centers course or at a course of your own (when staff is available). This can be done virtually or in person. There may be a fee associated with this monitoring session.
• Instructors should schedule their monitoring within 60 days of their expiration date.  

Instructor renewal requirements are the responsibility of the instructor, not the training site. While we offering classes for monitoring, that is a courtesy. We will NOT contact you to remind you of your expiration or to sign up for a monitoring session.
