Special Considerations
The following is a list of special considerations for course offered through our training site. This list is not a complete and comprehensive list. Instructors should review materials in the their instructor manual for additional information.
BLS Renewal Course
- Students must have a current BLS Provider card issued by the AHA in order to attend a renewal course.
- Instructors must include a copy of the students BLS Provider card in the required course paperwork.
- The renewal course has its own videos, its own lesson plans and its own agenda. Student’s who attend a traditional BLS Provider or HeartCode BLS course are not considered a “renewal.”
HeartCode BLS
- Students must complete the online portion of the HeartCode BLS course prior to attending and submit it to the instructor.
- Instructors must include a copy of the HeartCode BLS completion certificate in the required course paperwork.
- There is no written exam for the HeartCode BLS course, skills evaluation is still required.
- Students will have access the BLS Provider manual via their HeartCode BLS course; this does not need to be provider.
HeartSaver Courses
- Courses do not require a written exam, if one is provided, students must achieve above an 80%,
- Skills evaluation required for all completed modules. Adults, Child, Infant, FA.
- Courses types must be the same for all students who attended. Additional course types/modules can not be combined.
- For blended courses, students must complete the online portion of the HeartSaver Blended course prior to attending and submit it to the instructor.
- For blended courses, instructors must include a copy of the HeartSaver Blended completion certificate in the required course paperwork.
Virtua Courses
The BLS Training Centers does not allow for instructors to complete any Virtual (online only) courses.
